A little information about Mink Ragdolls

First off all minks are not a new breed or even a new pattern for ragdolls.  Minks can be traced back to the original ragdolls of Ann Baker, the breeder who started the ragdoll breed back in the 1960's.  The minks are a purebred ragdoll that are registered, mine are registered with TICA.  The minks are rare because the majority of ragdoll breeders have concentrated on the traditional lines, but a few breeders around the world are working with the mink lines.

The differences are small and subtle between the traditional and mink, the first being, when the kittens are born, the mink kittens are born with color, where as the traditional kittens are born white, with their color appearing slowly over the next few weeks.  The eye color for minks are a gorgeous aqua, where the traditional are a beautiful blue.  The ragdoll is known for its rabbit soft fur, the minks coat is similar except it is very soft and plush, like the pelt of a real Mink, hence, where the name mink comes from, for these rare ragdolls.  The personalities and size of ragdolls are known world wide and there is no difference between the two.  The only difference I see between the traditional and mink (other than what I have already mentioned) is that the mink is rare and a little more unique than its traditional brothers and sisters.
